Apple wants to make 25% of its products in India. That’s according to India’s Commerce Minister, as the tech giant looks to reduce its dependence on China. Analysts estimate around 5% of Apple’s latest iPhone 14 were made in India in 2022.
Passport stamps are about to become history for travellers to Europe. The European Union’s long-awaited entry scheme will start from November, using electronic registration and biometrics to speed up border queues and spot visa overstayers.
Amazon closed one of its first food stores in London. Shoppers were surprised to find the Amazon Fresh’s doors closed in Dalston after just two years of operation. Retail analysts are questioning whether the company’s rapid expansion into high-tech convenience stores may be scaled back.
The Good
Europe’s ‘Tesla Model 3’ now has a 395 mile range. Swedish challenger brand Polestar unveiled a new version of its ‘2’ hatchback. The long range model now boasts 395 miles of range, making it one of the world’s leading EVs. Like a Tesla, without the Musk problem.
The Bad
Trump is back on Facebook and Instagram. ‘The Donald’ returns to social media following requests from his 2024 presidential campaign to reinstate him. “We believe it is both necessary and possible to draw a line between content that is harmful and should be removed, and content that, however distasteful or inaccurate, is part of the rough and tumble of life in a free society,” said Meta spokesman Nick Clegg.
