Egg prices soared by 59% last year. Avian flu outbreaks have largely been blamed for rising prices across the United States, along with rising labor and fuel costs. One advocacy group has accused egg producers of turning the crisis into an “opportunity to extract egregious profits,”.

Amazon closed one of its first food stores in London. Shoppers were surprised to find the Amazon Fresh’s doors closed in Dalston after just two years of operation. Retail analysts are questioning whether the company’s rapid expansion into high-tech convenience stores may be scaled back.
