5 Ways To Grow Your Personal Brand As A Content Creator

Following

Content creators have a difficult job because they never stop creating content. To get clients, they’ve got to make sure their content is on point. But at the same time, they’ve got to create unique content for their clients. Therefore, building a personal brand can be challenging and requires a little more finesse than normal. You’ll need to put a lot of thought and creativity into your online presence because every post shapes the way potential clients view your ability to provide for them. If you want to know how to build your brand as a content creator, keep reading.

1) Deliver Value

As much as your brand is about you, the reality is that your audience isn’t interested in you, they’re interested in what you can do for them. It’s a shallow world we live in, and the mindset of the average person is, “What am I going to get out of this?” So, your first priority when growing your personal brand is to deliver value. Delivering value attracts the customers who believe they can benefit from you. Companies have had to get used to this since the growth of social media. Traditional marketing didn’t used to require as much work and it was all about using the right marketing skills. Times have significantly changed, and advertising alone will no longer attract your target audience. Your content must scream, “I’m here to serve you.” If it doesn’t they’ll move on to the next.

2) Understand Your Target Audience

One of the reasons social media is so powerful is it gives you direct access to your target audience. Gone are the days when companies were forced to conduct long-winded market research surveys to learn more about their target audience. Today, how your followers respond to your content will tell you everything you need to know about what they need. Have you ever posted something and gotten ten likes, but the following week, you posted something else and got 200 likes? That’s because you caught your audience’s attention, and they’re telling you that they want more of it. Additionally, even though no one wants negative reviews, they can be a blessing in disguise. A negative review highlights what your audience don’t want so that you can make the necessary changes to give them what they need.

3) Weave Your Story Into Your Content

Behind every brand, there’s a story, and people want to know what yours is. By weaving your story into your content, not only are you reminding yourself of your ‘why’ but you are giving your audience insight into the creative process. In other words, you’re not blindly pumping out content and hoping it sticks, there’s an important message connected to everything you do.

4) Interact With Your Followers

Not all your followers are going to become customers and that’s fine. But interacting with them is critical to growing your brand because people want to know there’s a real person behind the company. Interaction can be as simple as responding to social media comments and sending special thank you notes to customers who leave positive reviews.

5) Be Consistent

And finally, be consistent. Using a product like Adobe Express can help make content creation much easier over time. It will take a while before you develop a theme that works. There will be a lot of trial and error, but once you nail it, don’t change it until your instincts tell you it’s time to. Your audience will become accustomed to your brand and will recognize it whenever they see it. When you do decide to change the theme, let your audience know by getting them involved in the creative process. For example, if you plan on changing your logo, have a few versions designed and ask them to pick the one they like the best.

Growing your personal brand as a content creator will take dedication, patience, and hard work. But if you really want to take your business to the next level, you’ll need to make the required sacrifices. Take your time, and don’t rush, but enjoy the process. One of my favorite quotes is, “Slow and steady wins the race,” because the best way to build something of lasting value, is to do so - brick by brick.
