The 5 Steps To Becoming An Expansive CEO

What does it mean to be an Expansive CEO?

If you are one, you already know it. You’re the entrepreneur that can’t sit still. That has 157 ideas per day and somehow you’re able to limit yourself to only researching and exploring 18 of them...but the rest are on sticky notes around your house, in 1 of the 9 notebooks you have going, pinned to an out-of-date vision board, and on a notes app somewhere in your phone.

The problem is that you have so many ideas floating around and so many things that you want to achieve and accomplish in this lifetime that you can’t seem to move the needle on any one thing quickly enough. Progress always happens too slowly for you, and no one else can ever move as quickly as you can when you’re inspired by an idea.

You’ve been able to create measurable success in your business, and even have some awesome team members and healthy revenue numbers to show for it! But something’s still not right. You’re not feeling successful the way you expected to, and you’re tired and often resentful in your business, and getting more frustrated with things as time goes on. People are counting on you now though, your employees, your clients, your family, and you don’t feel like you can make a big change the way you’re itching to do.

But what if you could put yourself back into the expansive, visionary seat of your company again? What would it look like if you chased your dreams all the way to the end, in an ever expanding circle of discovering what you truly want to create in this world, aligning your time, money, and most importantly, your energy toward it, and then expanding into that next level of success, over and over again?

That’s how truly expansive CEOs do it. When they are ready for another new project, they don’t burn down or give up the business they’ve built so far, they integrate the success, realign their time, money, and energy into the new project, and expand.

In order to be an Expansive CEO yourself, follow these basic steps:

1. Contemplate and integrate - Look at what you’ve built so far. What do you love about it and want to keep doing? What do you resent or what frustrates you? Integrating your current success happens when you get crystal clear on what you love and what you’re best at, and you lean into that aspect of your business and delegate or release the rest.
2. Discover what you truly desire to create next - Write it out! What idea or cause is captivating your attention right now? What would it look like if you were able to dive into that project fully?
3. Align your energy by aligning your time and money - Your energy leads you to what’s next. What are you most excited about? What are you most frustrated about? Time and money are the most critical tools you have at your disposal to make it possible to follow where your excitement leads you, so use them well! The more time you spend in your zone of genius, where your energy is in flow state and you are doing your best work, the faster you’ll expand.
4. Expand, and know what to look out for - When you align your time, money, and energy towards what you truly want to create in life, your business will expand! And when you expand in business, any structure (business operations, family support, etc.) that wasn’t sound to begin with will make itself known. Understand that when something breaks or goes out of alignment in your business during an expansion, that’s a good thing! You are learning how to incorporate the expansion and build even stronger, more resilient process, procedures, and teams.
5. Integrate, and repeat!

Being a visionary entrepreneur is a gift. When you’re able to build a supportive team around you so that you can spend time and energy being in your zone of genius, you will not only create a better life for yourself and your employees, you will bring new life and new energy to your industry, to your clients, and to the world.
