This is especially frustrating if we are short-staffed. Work won’t pay for our travel to a weekend location I work at a small nonprofit and everyone on staff is being asked to work a couple of weekends each during the next few months at an off-site location that can only be accessed by ferry. I’m sorry you’re having to deal with this.

Employers don’t have to pay employees for these benefits, but employees may value these highly. Employees, again, should factor how much they plan to not work.
